Thanks to all who bought numbers in our raffle which was an important fundraiser for our Supporters Club.

100 of these enamel badges are available for sale at the Leeds game on 30-10-10 priced at £3 each.
These are on general sale and not just exclusively to members of Irish Iron as with the annual membership badges.
All proceeds towards kit sponsorship at Glanford Park.

Irish Iron had a stall at this years Open Day for the first time ever thanks to the efforts of Steve Butler, assisted by Damon Campion and Fleur Clohesy. Many thanks to them for giving up their Sunday to represent Irish Iron.

Thanks also to everyone who visited our stall or bought any of our merch. on the day.

Club Captain, Clifford Byrne popped by to say hello.

Irish Iron Membership 2010/11 open to all

It's that time folks! as we enter our 16th season the aim is to get 100 members, a feat we have achieved only twice in the past 15 seasons.


Fees remain at just €15 or £10stg provided postage isn't required (if membership pack is collected from either myself or from Steve outside Glanford Park), please add €5/£4 if postage is required.


Membership is open to everyone,everywhere, the vast majority of our members are not Irish, in fact for the past 3 seasons we have more members outside Ireland than within.


All monies collected goes back to the Iron as sponsorship.


Picture of goodies members recieve is above, there is a choice of shotglass, either Borough Council crest or Unity crest, a pen, badge and membership card for all 2010/11 members.

Irish Iron will produce 100 Claret t-shirts with the above Front and Backprints

They will be available in sizes 9/10 years up to XXL and cost £10 each or £8 for Childrens sizes.
They will be available for purchase at the final game of the season on May 2nd.

Paul Hayes wins our Player of the Season award for the second successive season.

David Mirfin was second and Gary Hooper third in the voting.
Thanks to the record number of members who registered their votes this season.

Paul joins Joe Murphy, Andy Butler and Alex Calvo-Garcia in winning our award twice.

Paul will be presented with a piece of personalised crystal and a presentation bottle of Irish Whiskey outside the Iron Bar after the Forest game on 2nd May.

A new t-shirt will be produced in his honour, artwork to follow but it will be a Claret coloured t-shirt printed front and back.

Pictured is the new Irish Iron polo shirt embroidered design featuring the Scunthorpe Borough Council crest.
There will be just 36 of these produced in sizes S/M/L/XL/XXL priced at £12 each and available on either a claret or navy polo shirt.
These should be on sale at the Forest game on 2nd May.
All proceeds go towards Players kit sponsorship next season.
This Crest will also feature on our members only badge for next seasons members of Irish Iron.

Can all members forward their votes for Player of the Season within the next 2 weeks or so to give me time to get an award done up and new merchandise personalised with the winning Players name.

Winner will be announced in mid-April
Presentation will take place after the Forest game on 2nd May in the Iron Bar when members are present and then 'officially' at the awards night at Forest Pines so we can get some rare publicity for our award.

Scunthorpe United FC announce Irish Iron Day – Saturday 20th March – Plymouth Argyle Match

To acknowledge and honour the contribution Irish Players have made to the Clubs recent success and the 15th anniversary celebrations of Irish Iron, the Clubs’ official Irish Supporters Club, Scunthorpe United are proud to announce that Saturday 20th March, the nearest home game to St. Patricks Day, will be designated as Irish Iron Day in support of Help for Heroes.

Activities on the day will include Irish themed food in restaurant/food outlets, Irish themed decorations and Guinness in all Bars, Irish music and Irish Dancers at Half time and other activities to be confirmed nearer the day.

Irish Iron will design/provide 100 specially produced t-shirts as a souvenir of the day which the Players will warm up in pre-match, the remainder will be on sale to Supporters at a cut price £5 each. Irish Iron will make a donation of £1 to Help for Heroes, the official charity of the football league, from the sale of each t-shirt.

A members only Badge plus embroidered Polo shirts, hats, hoodies etc will also be made to order with most sizes/colours available.


We hope to have samples for the last game of the season 'v' Notts Forest at Glanford Park.



New Aer Lingus Dublin - Doncaster Route

Aer Lingus Regional announce NEW flights to Dublin
A new franchise agreement between Aer Arann and Aer Lingus, know as 'Aer Lingus Regional' will see a new daily flight service from Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield to Dublin commence on 28th March 2010.
Flights will arrive from Dublin at 11.15am and depart from Doncaster Sheffield at 11.40am.
