Irish Iron Membership fees for our 15th anniversary season 2009/10 are now due and remain at €15 for which members recieve an engraved shotglass, pen, membership card and a 15th anniversary enamel badge.

We have only twice in the last 14 years had more than 100 members in a season and both times were following promotions so hopefully we can continue that this season.

The new 15th anniversary embroidered polo shirts and Hayes t-shirts are selling well and we have over 50 members signed up already.

Clifford Byrne Irish Iron wedding gift presentation

Clifford and Sandra get married in Dublin on 13th June, Irish Iron members wish them both a very long, happy and healthy life together and as a gesture of thanks for all Clifford has done for our Supporters Club and it's members we presented him with a set of Irish Crystal Wine Goblets and a presentation bottle of Bushmills Whiskey with our best wishes.

Secretary, Bernard Griffin made the presentation to Clifford with Paul Hayes.

We will have 24 Coffee Mugs with the above artwork wrapped around for sale after the Tranmere game priced at £5 each in honour of Clifford Byrne, the first ever Irish Captain of the Iron.

Clifford has always been a great help to our Supporters Club and we look forward to seeing him after the Tranmere game.

New Merchandise has arrived!!

The 2009/10 members 15th anniversary shot glasses have arrived and very nice they are too, there is one for the first 72 people to sign up for Irish Iron membership next season.
Can anyone in Scunthorpe for the Tranmere game email me if they are (re-)joining and I will bring their glass/badge/pen/membership card across with me to save on postage.
Membership remains at €15/£10 sterling as it has been for many years now.

The 15th anniversary embroidery items have arrived also, for anyone who got in touch to order one I'll bring them across too.Will have a few spare polo shirts/beeny hats in L/XL at £15/£5 first come first served, polos in bottle green,sky blue or claret while beeny hats are in claret or bottle green.

Hayes player of the season t-shirts are going direct to Scunthorpe next week and will be available in Iron Bar shortly after full time and later I'll have some in the Lawyer, email me for size required and we'll get one to you.

Paul Hayes Irish Iron Player of the Season 2008/09 Shirt artwork

Here is the front and back artwork for our latest T-shirt in honour of Paul Hayes, our player of the season.

These will be available in sizes Childrens 3/4 years up to Adults XXL with just a few in each size.

We should have these available for sale in the Iron Bar/Lawyer after the Tranmere game on May 2nd.

Cost will be €10 euro each or £9 sterling for all sizes or if buying any 2 then price falls to 2 for €17 euro or 2 for £15 sterling.

This gives a substantial saving on previous t-shirt prices in these recessionary times and is designed to boost sales during our 15th anniversary season as we bid to get our membership back up to around the 100 mark.

Irish Iron Player of the Season 2008/09

Paul Hayes has won our Player of the season award for this season.
He just pipped Gary Hooper to the award with Grant McCann third in the voting.
Paul has had a great season, his workrate has been superb and he has weighed in with his fair share of goals too.

Thanks to all Irish Iron members who took the time to register their votes.

Paul will be presented with his award and a presentation bottle of Irish Whiskey after the Tranmere game in the Iron Bar.

As with previous winners of our award, we will issue a T-shirt in his honour which should be available for the Tranmere game.
Artwork for the shirt will be published here soon, it will be a white tee with claret and blue print front and back.

Player of the season Votes required/New Merch. etc

Hi all,Bad news first, it's about to get a lot more awkward to get to Scunthorpe from Ireland. Ryanair are stopping the Dublin to Doncaster flights from next July so from next season on our choice of flights from Dublin etc are into Leeds Bradford/East Midlands or Manchester, Public transport from Leeds/East Mids to Scunthorpe is well nigh impossible but at least there is a regular rail service from Manchester to Scunthorpe.The only flight left into Doncaster from Ireland will be from Belfast City airport operated by Flybe.

As next season is our 15th anniversary, I'm getting some merchandise made to mark the occasion.I have a new supplier for embroidery and will be getting Polo shirts/Hoodies/Jackets/Fleeces/Caps with the UNITY crest as per virtual sample above. If anyone wants any polos etc please let me know sizes/colours required and I'll order them.

Hoping to have something special for members next season to mark 15 years,possibly a members only etched shot glass and a special badge, this years membership total of 65 is very poor considering we had 120 last season, this is the first season ever that we have more members OUTSIDE Ireland than within.

It'll soon be time to think about votes for Irish Iron player of the season, please forward votes to me by the 2nd week in April at the latest to give me time to get an award done up etc.
